One day, a series of mysterious visions and a pillar of light thrusts her onto the planet Gaea, where the Earth and Moon appear in the sky. It has been said that Escaflowne is Sunrise's answer to Gainax's Evangelion. Thanks to the mesmerising music, excellent animation, romantic storyline and moving and unpredictable plot, Escaflowne is my favourite anime of all time.
