About ångel
With an increasing number of beautiful wallpaper sites popping up on the net every month, I thought it'd be nice if there was a webring that'd list all the sites and serve as some kind of portal to wallpaper sites. After whipping up a layout and doing the necessary arrangements, ångel was launched on 7th Dec '01. The purpose of ångel is to group together the wallpaper designers and filter out wallpaper thieves. Requirements to join ångel are strict and demanding. Read them carefully here.
Policy
One rampant issue on the wallpaper community is how a number of the wallpaper sites merely house stolen works from the original artists' sites, without asking for permission nor giving credit or linkback of any form. The works in question are images in which hours of hard work have been put in to ensure that they achieve their best possible look. However, wallpaper thieves simply take a few minutes to save them, add them to their website and upload them. Some even go through great lengths to remove the watermarks or signatures. There're also fakers out there who take other people's wallpapers, slap another image on top and, shockingly enough, have the cheek to call it their own. We have a zero tolerance towards wallpaper thieves of any sorts, and the above mentioned are stuff which you would not find on the member sites.
Behind the scenes
ångel is created and maintained by me, Celestine. Annalee helps me in deciding if the submitted sites meet the requirements to be added. If you happen to find out that one of the current members has stolen works on his/her site, please inform me!
